There I stood in front of my family at our annual Summer Daze bash, belting out “God Bless America” like I owned the stage. From as early as I can remember, I knew I was meant to be on one.
For years, I thought that calling meant music. Singing. Musical theater. Performing under bright lights with a microphone in hand. I loved the stage, loved storytelling, and followed that passion all the way through earning a degree in music.
hey that's me!
What I didn’t realize back then was that the dream was never really about performing.
It was about connection.
About communication.
About standing in front of people and moving something in them.
just in a way that’s richer and more aligned than I ever could have imagined.
I’m still on stage. I still have a microphone. But now, instead of performing, I’m speaking. I’m telling stories that invite people to slow down, pay attention, and live with more intention and presence in a distracted world.
The dream didn’t disappear. It grew up right along with me.
I’m low-key obsessed with helping to slow down, cut through the noise, and live with intention in a distracted world. I love thoughtful conversations, simple rhythms, and reminding people that presence matters more than perfection. When I’m not speaking or recording the podcast, I’m probably sipping an iced maple latte, dreaming up a one-day trip, or chasing my girls around the zoo.
What I'm
loving
Zoo or pool days with my girls, playing monopoly with the hubs...ask him about my winning streak ;), taking a walk, dreaming about moving to Florida, and visiting the Farmer's Market.
What I'm
learning
Sometimes saying "no" takes discipline but reaps the greatest rewards. It's not very easy, and sometimes it hurts, but it builds great character.
What I'm
not about
Debt and consumerism. Even though most people say things like "you'll always have a car payment," or "some debt is good debt," I personally disagree.
what I
believe
Christ is King, the best things sometimes require the greatest sacrifice, and that there is no job on earth more important than my job as a wife and mom.
